Emerge Nevada Women in Office

After completing her Emerge program last year, she said the training "gave me the confidence and knowledge to run - from all the nuts and bolts to announcing your candidacy, raising funds, and speaking before a small or large crowd."  Her campaign is already off to a great start, with several successful fundraisers and a mention of support from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the local Asian American fundraiser in her community!

Cindy Olivas Trigg is the daughter of a Korean combat Veteran, wife of a Vietnam combat Veteran, mother of a college graduate who is entering the US Navy. She is a retired flight attendant and current President of the Douglas County School Board. At all points, she has proven that she can and will work with others to get results.

Daela Gibson is a Native Nevadan, born and raised in Reno. She is an active community member volunteering for several different organizations on the local, state, and national level including Crisis Call Center, Soroptimist International, and the American Legion Auxiliary

Ellen Barre Spiegel is the first Democrat to represent Henderson's Assembly District 21 in a generation. In addition, she is the first Democratic woman to ever represent Assembly District 21!

In 2008, Ellen's opponent spent over $100,000 trying to win the race, while she had raised only $11,000. But with the help of hundreds of supporters, including many independents and moderate Republicans, her campaign was a success.

Julia was born, raised and educated in Sparks. She and her husband James choose to make their home near Victorian Square and enjoy working on their 1950s home. Julia owns a small business located on Victorian Square in the heart of Ward 1.

Commissioner Kitty Jung was appointed to the Washoe County Commission by Governor Gibbons. As a Washoe County Commissioner, Kitty considers public safety to be her number one priority. She is committed to ensuring that law enforcement and other public safety agencies have access to the resources they need to serve and protect her community. She also believes that responsible and sustainable development is crucial in order to maintain and improve the quality of life in Washoe County.
